All our love The Shepherds
So sorry for the long delay in an update. I'm sure you all can relate with the hectic schedules that come with the holidays! Other than preparing for Christmas we've been LOVING the company of my parents! I'm so happy to have them here with us for Christmas. The last two years it has been just our family together on Christmas so it's so nice to have family around. Here are a few random pics from the last few weeks that I decided were blog worthy.
Moose and Bindi were hanging out in the back of Jess's truck supervising the hanging of Christmas lights. Note the leg lamp from "A Christmas Story" in the window on the second floor. :-)
Here is Sydney next to her friend Sam (in the Santa hat) during their Christmas program at school.
We had a little snowfall this past week and the girls were in heaven! They loved seeing the snow and trying to catch the flakes on their tongues. It melted the next day but not before Syd and Jess built a miniature snowman and had a snowball fight. Sydney looks like she was just white washed in this picture but Jess assured me that she piled the snow on her head all by herself. She looks kinda miserable though.
Here we are in the woods this weekend hunting for the perfect tree, we had a wonderful time we had a fire, the four wheeler, sleds and lots of hot chocolate and chili
Here is the final product we didn't realize how big it was so we had to cut a lot off
so frankie and i are living at heidi's now. max and frankie are finally getting used to each other. the other day when we dropped nana and g'pa off at the airport max reached over and held frankie's hand. no big deal. just my kiddos rule. anyhoo this is from thanksgiving. i am grateful for all of you. well most of you! ha.
We have been so busy, what with moving and Jeff's new job. This was taken right before he flew out to New Mexico. We all miss him, but are hanging in there and are so excited about this huge opportunity! We have talked on Skype a few times and Kyler is pretty intrigued by that.
The girls were playing their brother and putting him down for a "nap" in the laundry basket. And yes that is a pink binky.
After a long day!
The weekend I've been looking forward to for the last 10 weeks has already come and gone. It was the weekend of the Philadelphia Marathon! Well, a half marathon for me, but still. We all drove up to New Jersey to stay with our great friends the Junkos who live only about 30 mins from Philadelphia. We had such a great time! Cortni ran the race with me and I need to give her a big thanks! If it weren't for her I would never have in a million years ever started running, let alone sign up for a half marathon. It was great having my "coach" by my side, cheering me on the entire way! The race was amazing, there were so many people. I've never seen anything like it before. It was insane but SO much fun! We finished it in 2hrs 10mins which is pretty much right on our goal of 10 min miles.
Besides the excitement of race day, it was great hanging out with Cortni, Ben and their adorable little boy Devin. It was great seeing them, we've missed them SO much!
Here are a few pics from the fun weekend.
The race was Sunday so Saturday we headed into the city to pick up our race packets and see some of the city. Here we are with the Liberty Bell.
The guys had the kiddos all bundled up and stopped at a couple places along the course to cheer us on! While darting over to say a quick hi and get a hi five from Syd, I almost took Cortni out! Perfect timing for the picture!
What a wonderful weekend!
