Xander got his jumperoo yesterday! He doesn't really understand he needs to jumo with his legs but he gets that the thing moves when he does. His solution: bob my big giant pumpkin head. He's such a goof ball! When I get video of him bobbing his head I'll post it.
If you are wondering why I've posted 3 times already today, my hubby came home with an early birthday gift, a new apple lap top!!!! It's a ton faster and much cooler than our old one.
Alexander is four months old today! I don't want him to grow up too fast, but I'm so happy we are moving on & up in the world of babyhood! He was an awful grump most of December but is now finally getting a bit better. I don't know if I dare label him as a "colicky baby", but fussy is definitely a word in our daily vocabulary. It seems he is starting to come through the fussy period though, maybe......I don't want to jinx us. He likes the fact he can hold his toys, especially the fact he can bring them to his mouth to chew them. He likes when I sing to him and when his daddy plays peek-a-boo. He is a huge giggler now and it's easier to make him laugh. He has recently discovered his lips and is making all sorts of new raspberry/zerbert sounds. We think he's going to be a silly little boy, not serious like some babies. He is probably well on his way to being a trouble maker too. Anna and I are pretty sure Xander and Elliot will cause quite a bit of trouble together. At least if that happens we can double team them!
He's getting big!
Here he was at 1 month!
This is sure to make you smile.
He is wearing an outfit from Auntie Meghann that is size 6-12 months! Can you believe that? It is from Gymboree though and I find they run a tad small.
I'm still sore from my workout on Friday but I'm going to make myself get up and go again tomorrow. Wish us luck!
"Grumpy? Who me?"
Xander and I joined a great momma and baby exercise group today. It's called Stroller Strides. It's a national group that has classes in various cities around the states. I've been trying to get motivated on my own to get back in shape and loose these remaining 20 pounds, but I just don't stick with it. I really hope this group will keep me on track and make me want to get up and go exercise. The instructor is great and she has a little girl who was born the same week as Xander. Everyone was so nice and I felt like I was instantly part of the group. We all have our BOB jogger strollers and race around the mall, dogging all the "mall walkers". The group meets early in the mornings before the mall opens so we don't have to dodge all the customers. When it warms up we get to meet at a park in town and stroll in the sunshine! They also have play dates and mommy night outs. I'm not quite ready for the mommy night outs yet, but I will in time.
Sorry, no pictures from the workout! I was just trying to catch up with all the in-shape mommies! It definitely is not a "stroll" either. Those ladies move! I am going to be SO sore tomorrow.
We had a baby play date today here at our house. It was great! Granted, at this point, the babies don't really "play" with each other, but we all had fun. It's so great to hang out with other mommas and babes. We all understand what the other is going through and are interested in just sitting around and talking about the babies. When you have a baby, it's all you want to talk about. Thanks, Amanda, Cooper, Anna and Elliot for coming to play!
I tried on Amanda's Ergo baby carrier and I am sold! Xander is just getting way too heavy to carry around in the Bjorn. The Ergo carrier distributes the baby's weight better and is suppose to be better on their little backs and hips. I think we're going to buy one tomorrow with some Christmas money from Great Grandma&Grandpa Hadley.
This little boy has discovered he can yell at his momma! He now will yell or screech as loud as he can if I'm not paying attention to him. Little does he know, I'm always paying attention to him whether I'm looking right at him or not. Silly boy!
In addition to discovering his ability to yell and squeal, he is starting to entertain himself a little. The other day he played with his rattle all the way home from lunch in his car seat. This may sound like a very trivial thing to celebrate, but you other parents know what a GREAT thing it is when they begin to self entertain!
I heard some one missed my smile?
I'm also very practiced at making this face. I believe it really shows off my prized divot !
Xander had his 4 month doctor appointment today. Yes, it's about a week and a half early but, oh well. He did pretty well with the shots but we still had to endure an ouchy-pain cry. It breaks my heart to hear him cry like that. It makes me want to cry. He is right up there on the growth charts too. He weighted in at 14 lbs 9.2 ounces, which is 50%. His height was 2 feet 2 inches, which is 75%. He and his cousin are only an ounce apart now. It's amazing how they all kind of even out no matter their birth weight. We laugh that some day Xander will be bigger than Elliot but I think it's actually not too far off.
We had a nice afternoon and evening over at the Ruby house tonight. The babies just love to look and smile at each other. It's so darn cute.
